How do grants work?
Grants are equity free contributions meant for early stage companies. We work with grantees in less of a capacity than companies we invest in, but we can still provide help with business development and make strategic intros. If we feel a grant company is making good progress, we’d love to be the first investor!
Can you tell me more about what you’re looking for?
We look for different things at each stage:
Idea – Is the team fit to solve this problem? Will no one else solve this, if we don’t fund this team? Why is the team working on this?
Beta – Do early users love the product? (We care less about number of users and more about how much they love it)
Launched – How fast are you growing per week? Are regular people willing to bypass blockchain’s problems to use your product?
How long will it take for you to get back to me?
We look over every application, but we can’t get back to everyone. If you’re feeling anxious about your application and you’re making progress, feel free to update it on the apply page. Showing us that you’re making good progress increases your chances of us funding you a great amount.
Will you fund multiple startups working on the same idea?
Yes. We deal with this conflict by not talking about what the other startup is doing and we don’t play favorites. Also, most big markets have room for multiple different implementations / philosophies of solving a particular problem.
We don't really need the money. Does it still make sense to apply?
Yes. We provide more than just money. We can make introductions to users, investors, or partners you might not be able to otherwise attain.
Do I have to relocate anywhere?
No, you can work where you currently work.
